I just wouldn’t have guessed it, but Legend of the Seeker has a huge amount of fans. Either that, or a small amount of very vocal ones. In any case, the show (which airs only in syndication) is still gathering fans, despite the fact that it was cancelled after its second season earlier this year. Outrage could be heard across the internet as the aforementioned fans headed up “Save Our Seeker” campaigns in order to revive the series based on Terry Goodkind’s Swor...

It’s Official: LEGEND OF THE SEEKER Has Been Canceled

Posted by Confessed4Life on Thursday, May 13, 2010, In : Season 3

There’s been some confusion floating around the blogosphere about whether or not the syndicated fantasy show Legend of the Seeker has really been canceled.

To set the record straight, it has been. I’ve heard it directly from the studio itself. “It is true that we won’t be producing a third season,” they told me.

I didn’t write another article to this effect because I’d already reported the news once and, frankly, I didn’t want to throw cold water on the efforts by fans to ...

SyFy’s Craig Engler wrote a thoughtful response to the various “Save Our Show” campaigns that are presently underway on Boing Boing. In “How to REALLY save your favorite sci-fi show from cancelation” Craig writes:

So the biggest way you can have a real, meaningful impact – the way that will work every time if you can pull it off — is to find a way to get NEW viewers to try the show. And a LOT of new viewers. If a show isn’t successful with 900,000 viewers, it’s not goin...

Sam Raimi’s track record hasn’t been all that great recently. Rumors hit the Web this week that ABC Domestic Television is pulling the plug on the show, which is filmed in New Zealand, where Raimi and partner Rob Tapert once launched the mega showsHercules: The Legenda...

ABC Television Braves Irate Fans over Fantasy Show

Posted by Confessed4Life on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, In : Season 3

Bridget Regan and Craig Horner star in 'Legend of the Seeker'.What does it take to kill a television show? A cold heart? An empty soul? A sinister predilection for evil? Or perhaps just a recognition that at the end of the day the numbers don’t add up? Television executives are people, too, but they are often lampooned for being cold, heartless, and machinistic. ABC Domestic Television executives are about to learn what it feels like to take the heat over a decision that was, almost without a doubt, based solely on numbers and economics.
